Cardboard Chair
NB: The Cardboard Chair is
a prototype and is not for sale
The Cardboard Chair is a prototype made using a revolutionary new process founded in 2002
when Nicola Prodromou and Lucy Marston both passionate about the environment and design decided
to collaborate.
This unique, innovative and eco-friendly forming method takes an established process one step further.
‘The Cardboard Chair’ enhances cardboard’s hidden qualities, changing ones perception of a disposable material.
The furniture’s strength is gained from their process’s ability to create curves and its density gives
the designs the weight and qualities of furniture made from conventional materials.
As pictured right, the form can be veneered to look like wood, plastic, metal or melamine, breaking cardboard’s
associations with being a throwaway material. Or simply left natural or printed.
